Jack's 1st Christmas

We had three days of Christmas this year.

It started on the 23rd with Baker Family Christmas.
Jason's mom hosts Christmas with her kids and her brother's family the weekend before Christmas.
This way most of us are there and not off with the other side of our family.
It's always filled with great food and football!

On the 24th, Jack had his first Christmas Eve service at church.

We then headed to my parents house for dinner and presents.
Our family always opens presents from each other on Christmas Eve and then do stockings from Santa on Christmas morning.
Christmas Eve with kids adds lots of energy to the evening.
Here are the brother cousins in their argyle sweater vests.

Love these two of Jason & Jack.

And our family of three on the white couch.

Below is me and Jason on the same couch three years earlier {Christmas Eve 2009}. It was the first time Jason met my family.

Christmas morning is kicked off with my dad's infamous 'three meat breakfast' of ham, bacon, & sausage...with eggs, coffee cake, & mimosas on the side.

Stockings from Santa.
And another of Luke and Jack in their Christmas jammies.
We had a visit from Jason's grandparents.

We were supposed to have dinner with Jason's brothers in-laws, but they were sick
So, the rest of the day was pajama day...watching Christmas movies, eating another great deal, and playing Mexican train dominoes.

And, I did a little Christmas photo shoot of Jack...

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

I must say, it is so fun having a baby around during Christmas time!

Here are some scenes leading up to Christmas.

Started with us getting our Christmas tree the weekend after Thanksgiving.
Jack slept through the whole process...but going to Home Depot is boring compared to chopping down the tree, so I don't blame him.

Here is the tree all decorated

Next year we're going for the Noble Fur...and going taller.
I'm tired of my tree looking like a bush...although this tree does have great shape.

These are my favorite new Christmas decoration this year :)

Jack had his first visit with Santa.

And to top it off, Jack got dedicated at our church on December 16th.

More to come with Jack's first Christmas!

Jack: 3 Months Old

3 months today!
Wow!

I have to say that the time from 2 months to 3 months has been my favorite so far!
Our little guy is getting so much personality and it is so fun to watch it unfold.
He is much more alert this month, always looking around & checking out his surroundings.
And, therefore so much easier because he can finally start entertaining himself.
Smiles come very easily and frequently, especially to those of us he sees often.
I'm still depressed at how fast he is growing (do you see those thighs?!), but am loving this stage of seeing Jack become a little person.

Jack Facts at 3 Months:
Weight: 15 lb (75th percentile)
Height: 25 in (75th percentile
Head Circumference: 16.5cm (50th percentile)
Eating: Every 3 hrs. during the day; 3-4 hrs. at night
Sleeping: 3-4 hrs chunks (5-6 hrs once or twice, but still not the best)
Clothing Size: 3 month
Diaper Size: 1 (But he probably should be in 2, I'm just trying to use all my size 1's)
Firsts: starting to laugh
Likes: the swing (praise God!); floor gym; sitting up; bath time (finally!); his hands
Dislikes: getting finger nails clipped
Happy 3 Months, Jack. We love you!

Jack: 2 Months Old

Our Jack Jack turned 2 months old this week!
Can't believe how quickly it is going...
And how fast he is growing.
Today he had his 2 month check-up.
I've been dying to know his weight, so I was looking forward to the appointment.
But, poor guy got his shots, so he wasn't too happy.
It's been fun to see Jack's progression over the past month.
He has so much more personality!
He smiles much more frequently and a lot easier.
He focuses in on us when we talk to him and is trying so hard to talk back.
Here are Jack's Facts at 2 months:

Length: 24 in (75th percentile)

Important Dates

Three years ago today on November 1, 2009, I met Jason.
And now...we are married and have a six week old baby boy.
Crazy how life can change so much in a matter of three years.

I'm a date person.
I'm kinda obsessed with dates...people's birthdays, cool number combinations, significant events happening on dates related to other significant events...

So, I thought I'd write out the significant dates of our life for the past three years.

11.1.09: Jason and I meet at the young adults group at our church.
11.28.09: Jason and I go on our first official date to Aliotos in SF.
9.19.10: Jason proposes in San Francisco along the Lands End Trail.
4.2.11: We are married!
1.21.12: We find out we are pregnant with an EDD of 9.28.12.
1.27.12: We put an offer on a house (accepted on 1.30.12).
9.19.12: Our son Jack William is born.

So, most of these dates aren't that cool when it comes to number combinations... Lots of odd months with even days or years, so the dates don't look cool according to my taste.

However, I love the story behind some of these dates....

For example, I love that Jason and I met and started dating in November.

I used to call November 'Black November' because I had a few rough Novembers in a row... from starting a not fun job...to surgery....to a break-up that lasted from the start of November and ended on the 30th. So, I think it's great that Jason redeemed November for me.

When we found out our due date was the end of September, I was actually hoping the baby would be late and come in October.

I really wanted an October baby because October is my favorite month :)

Plus, I loved the dates of 10.1.12 or 10.2.12.

Very fun number combinations, right?

And, I thought that 10.2.12 would be neat because it was the 18 month anniversary of our wedding day.

Well, clearly Jack came early, so no October baby. But I love that he was born on the two year anniversary of our engagement. So very special.

And that is the fun with numbers I like to have!

Jack: 1 Month Old

Can't believe our little man is already a month old!
He isn't quite so little anymore, though. In two weeks, he gained two pounds! (Yes, is over 2 ounces per day!)

I just went through all the pictures I've taken since Jack was born and got all teared up seeing how big he has gotten.
I know...he is still so little, but I'm a hormonal mother crying over how fast my baby is growing up.
It's crazy to see the change with each week.

Here are some Jack facts at month one:

Weight: 10 lbs 3 oz (50th percentile)
Length: 21 in (25th percentile)
Head Circumference: 15 in (50th percentile)
Clothing Size: Newborn
Diaper Size: Newborn
Eating: 2-3 hrs (grazer eater: 5-10 min feedings)
Sleep: 2-3 hrs at night (starting to go one 3+ hr stretch at night)
Firsts: Smiled at 3 weeks; baby acne at 3 weeks
Likes: cuddling on our chests; car rides
